MY RESEARCH
Master’s by Research:
For my MRes, I developed an analytical framework to be used in the analysis of theatre with interaction, participation, and immersion.
You can read it here, at White Rose Theses online.
PhD prospects:
As further research, I am deeply interested in the relationship between adaptation and interactivity. Particularly, I ask: how do these two concepts interact in altering the meaning, identity, and fidelity of a given text?
Beyond:
I endeavour to carry on with my research into a research career, focusing my thought and academic practice on exploring various forms of performing arts.
Particularly, I wish to delve into:
- The categorisation and taxonomies of the “ephemeral” (unrepeatable) arts (i.e., performing arts, video game playings, etc.)
- The limits of adaptation’s definition, especially considering oral cultures and online analogues
- The potentialities of restoring antequated/endangered storytelling media through theatrical and interactive performances
- The revivification of community as an artistic, cultural driver in theatre
